A great number of the data breaches that companies and organizations have suffered over the past decade are the result of misused, phished or hacked passwords. The FIDO Alliance would like to do away with passwords altogether—or at least provide additional approaches that will reinforce the security of the authentication.
The FIDO Alliance is now nearly 200 strong and includes the most important companies in today’s technology world—Microsoft, Google, PayPal, Bank of America, Visa, MasterCard, Lenovo, Alibaba… the list goes on. See their website.
The date is Monday, May 11, 2015 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at The Science Gallery, Trinity College, Dublin.
This will be a free Seminar for companies interested in learning about, and deploying, the FIDO Standards of on-line authentication. There will be both Business and Technical tracks to the program, addressing UAF and U2F Specifications , FIDO’s Compliance Program, case studies of FIDO 1.0 deployment, and the relationship between FIDO, Federation and the Internet of Things. There will also be a panel discussion on the future of authentication as viewed from the perspective of Government.
Member companies will demonstrate FIDO ReadyTM products.
InfoSecurity Ireland is partnering with the US-based FIDO Alliance to present a seminar on the FIDO standards of online authentication. The FIDO Alliance is an IT industry standards association created to address one of the most important security issues faced by the Internet and the Cloud—authentication. Passwords don’t do it anymore!
