On October 11th, 2017 the Junior Chamber International Karlsruhe, the Economic Council of the CDU and KA-IT-Si are organizing the CyberWehr Summit to introduce the idea of a CyberWehr – a quick reaction force against cyber crime.
In order to address the dangers and problems arising from “information technology” (“IT”), companies, citizens and the state must be able to act and defend themselves. On the one hand, rapid economic developments and opportunities are associated with digital technologies and data processing. At the same time there are many unknown questions. An attack like the virus Wanna-Cry shows where weak points of the new technologies are.
For this reason, a Cyber brigade is provided, which can intervene in IT emergencies similarly to the fire brigade in case of fire. The kick-off event for this initative of the state of Baden-Württemberg also emphasizes the importance of the “IT hotspot” Karlsruhe. With a think tank like the KIT, a network like the CyberForum, a culture innovator like the ZKM and hundreds of IT companies, Karlsruhe offers an ecosystem that is synonymous with digitalization.
An exciting keynote by Minister for Digitalization Thomas Strobl and stimulous discussions await you, as well as a delicious snack followed by a get together. Further information, a description of the route and the timetable, can be found here.
